Chelsea played their penultimate pre-season game on Friday night in Italy as a second fixture is scheduled to be played this morning against the same club: Udinese.
Off the pitch though, work is ongoing to ensure that Thomas Tuchel is provided a squad able to compete with the Premier League elite once again as Chelsea look to finish at least in the top four. Raheem Sterling and Kalidou Koulibaly have so far been the only two senior signings in the men's set-up, but there could be plenty of movement on the incomings and outgoings front as we fast approach the Everton Premier League season opener next weekend.

Michy Batshuayi and Ross Barkley's exits inevitable after Udinese snub
Chelsea's squad selection for final pre-season game against Udinese hints at a double departure of fringe stars being imminent as Thomas Tuchel prepares to trim his squad over the forthcoming days.
As Chelsea confirmed on Friday, neither Michy Batshuayi or Ross Barkley were on the plane for the final pre-season encounter in Udine.
This may be due to the fact that a certain Premier League club are closing in on the duo. Frank Lampard and Everton are keen to raid the Blues this summer and 90min have reported that the Toffees are in talks with the pair.
The report also clarified that the club are also interested in taking Billy Gilmour and Armando Broja to Goodison Park, but the two young stars are in the travelling cohort, suggesting that talks for the pair are certainly less advanced.
