Chelsea receive transfer instruction after surprise Nottingham Forest claims

Chelsea supporters are unsure about reports that Nottingham Forest have enquired about signing left-back Emerson Palmieri this summer.

The Italy international has been out-of-favour at Stamford Bridge in recent seasons, making just six appearances under current head coach Thomas Tuchel before spending last season on loan in France with Lyon. Emerson also didn't feature in the 20-man squad that was in action on the opening weekend of the Premier League season against Everton.

Despite that, though, several Chelsea fans seem keen on keeping the full-back. Here is a selection of the social media reaction to these recent reports about the Reds ' interest.

@sebolatanprecio: Thank God. Chelsea should give them a fair price.

mubby_jay: It’s better they keep Emerson you can’t gamble on Chilwell’s fitness.

Modulus: I do think we should keep Emerson.

@StamfordBruecke: Forest interested in our deadwood.

@AboodYounes: They should keep Emerson and Jorginho, Italy not going to World Cup, which keeps the Italian players fit for the 2nd half of the season.

@market_kind: We should keep Ampadu and Emerson. We play a lot of games in space of days, they could be good back ups.

@temisimo: Oh! We still have Emerson.
