Chelsea ratings as Blues show signs of former ruthlessness in 3-0 derby win over Spurs

Chelsea extended their winning streak to nine games in all competitions and fired themselves to the top of the Women's Super League table with a 3-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur.

After a few minutes to find their rhythm, Chelsea cruised into the ascendancy as Sam Kerr opened the scoring on the 12th minute, followed by a wicked half-volley from Erin Cuthbert and a penalty from Guro Reiten before the interval. Despite failing to expand on their first-half goal gala, Chelsea continued to dominate the match and hound Spurs keeper Tinja-Riika Korpela, but the final cutting edge never came.

ANN KATRIN BERGER 8

The 32-year-old wasn't given too much to fret over with most of Spurs' chances at goal being benign efforts. But Berger did well to patrol her area when asked.

EVE PERISSET 7

Replaced Niamh Charles from the 3-1 victory over Manchester United. The 27-year-old offered a lethal outlet on the right side, pushing high and doing well to link up with Kadeisha Buchanan and Lauren James. Some nice crosses as well.

MILLIE BRIGHT 8

If a foot was put wrong, it's difficult to say where. The 29-year-old was her characteristic immovable force in Chelsea's backline. Her ball over the top to Sam Kerr helped to open the goal gala. Wearing the captain's armband after Eriksson's departure on the 50th minute was more than warranted from her performance. Her second-half close-range shot rattled the crossbar.

KADEISHA BUCHANAN 8

An incredibly composed performance in the backline from the 27-year-old, whose pace and strength was needed to offset Spurs' Drew Spence and Jessica Naz. On the ball, Buchanan pushed forward into Spurs' defence and did well to help in Chelsea's build-up play.

MAGDALENA ERIKSSON 7

Chelsea's skipper put in a strong defensive shift and kept Spurs' attack a marginal threat. Nearly joined in on the goalscoring after the interval after being fed in on the left by Reiten but her shot was fired straight at the keeper. Subbed on the 50th minute.

ERIN CUTHBERT 9

A sublime half-volley on the 26th minute fired Chelsea to a 2-0 lead. The 24-year-old looked sharp in midfield, constantly looking to get forward and help in attack. She recently signed a contract extension with the club until 2025, and the news was certainly celebrated in style.

SOPHIE INGLE 7

A mature and composed performance from Chelsea's Welsh international. A constant outlet to help in the build-up and ensured that the midfield was mostly under Chelsea control.

JESSIE FLEMING 7

The 24-year-old worked incredibly well in midfield alongside Ingle and showed great composure on the ball to trouble Spurs. In the second half, found herself pushing forward more as the Blues looked to add to their goal tally. A solid performance that demonstrated why Hayes continues to rate her and hand her more responsibility.

LAUREN JAMES 8

While she didn't expand on her goal-scoring exploits of late, there was a lot to love from James' display, not least winning the penalty for Chelsea's third. The 21-year-old constantly looked to get on the ball, and gave the crowd pure entertainment and Spurs a nightmare.

SAM KERR 9

Star player. Scored her sixth WSL London derby goal against Spurs but was easily Chelsea's biggest threat throughout the match. Leading the line, Kerr's pace was nigh impossible for Spurs' backline 29-year-old Australia international; constantly harrying Spurs' backline, a threat with her pace, did well to drop deep to try to linkup play

GURO REITEN 9

If not for Kerr, Reiten is next in line for player of the match. The 28-year-old showed off her creativity constantly in attack and proved a constant handful for Spurs. A consistent supply of through balls and crosses from all over the pitch. Her converted penalty gave Chelsea their 3-0 lead in the first half.

SUBS:

JESS CARTER 6

Brought in on the 50th minute, was lively in Spurs backline and used her strength to her advantage.

FRAN KIRBY 6

In the final minutes of extra time had a good chance to grab Chelsea their fourth goal but a misplaced pass ended the move.

BETHANY ENGLAND 7

Led the line for Chelsea as they looked for their second-half goal and despite showing signs, no goal game.

KATERINA SVITKOVA 6

Almost had a chance to give Chelsea the goal they so desperately wanted in the second half but was flagged offside.

ANIEK NOUWEN 6

Not given too much to worry about after coming on for Kadeisha Buchanan but displayed good moments when called upon.
