According to the Daily Star, Chelsea are plotting a bid for the Poland international if a move to the Camp Nou falls through. The Spanish giants' well-documented financial issues continue to hamper Xavi's freedom in the summer window, and such could determine as to whether Barcelona can sign Lewandowski.
He featured 34 times for the German giants in the Bundesliga this season, directly contributing towards 39 goals. Despite his age, Lewandowski's impressive displays steered Bayern to a tenth successive title, attracting attention from a host of leading European sides.

He sees his contract at the Allianz Arena expire at the end of next season, casting an element of doubt over his future in Germany. And, speaking on his future in May, Lewandowski addressed the rumours linking him with an exit.
The evergreen talisman said: "It is very likely that this is my last match with Bayern. I can't say 100%, but maybe it was. We want to find the best solution for me and the club."

According to ESPN, the evergreen talisman is open to a move to Stamford Bridge, but the west Londoners remain hesitant as to whether to escalate their interest, with Tuchel believed to have been granted the final say. Despite Todd Boehly having laid out the groundwork to complete a deal following a meeting with super agent Jorge Mendes, Tuchel is not convinced.
