Frank Leboeuf has warned Chelsea players that they must 'get rid of the bad habits' and play more progressively in order to improve under Graham Potter.
Following the surprise sacking of Thomas Tuchel last week, Potter took charge of his first game as the Blues' head coach on Wednesday, recording a 1-1 draw against Red Bull Salzburg in the Champions League group stages.
Although it will take time to implement his own style at the football club, Leboeuf thinks that Chelsea's current batch of players aren't helping themselves as they've developed some 'bad habits' in recent weeks.

“You have to get rid of the bad habits,” he told ESPN. “I saw it again many times, especially in the first half, where you can see sometimes you have the reflex to go back and to make a pass where you should go vertically.
"Maybe try something, take on the players and go more direct, which is not the case for many players because they’re used to keeping the ball and getting possession without doing many things with the ball. They will have to work very hard to change all their bad habits to be more direct in the way I like football.”
This weekend's game against Liverpool has been postponed as a result of policing issues ahead of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II's funeral on Monday. Although that's not exactly ideal for Potter as he'll want his team to be getting as much game time as possible, it does mean that Chelsea now don’t play again until October 1.
That in turn should give him time enough to work with his players on the training ground and iron out any issues. The Blues should improve once those problems have been resolved, given that they have the strength in depth necessary to challenge in every competition.
