Chelsea player ratings vs Watford: Thiago Silva a rock as Kai Havertz enjoys of his best performances

Chelsea scored late to secure a final-day victory over Watford and round off their Premier League campaign on a positive.

Kai Havertz had put the Blues ahead early on at Stamford Bridge yet their home-game problems resurfaced against the already-relegated Hornets.

Dan Gosling levelled with 87 minutes on the clock yet Ross Barkley popped up to head the stoppage-time winner after a fine cross from Reece James.

James Robson was at the ground to deliver his player ratings...

Edouard Mendy - 7

One quality stop denied Joao Pedro in the second half. Could do little to prevent Gosling from finding the back of the net.

Cesar Azpilicueta - 6

Was this his last game at the Bridge? An uncertain summer lies ahead for an absolute Chelsea legend.

Thiago Silva - 8

Cool and collected, as ever. He has quietly been the rock at the heart of Chelsea’s defence and this was not different.

Antonio Rudiger - 7

Got a deserved standing ovation after saying farewell. His final game for the club and typically dominant.

Reece James - 7

A trademark cross from him provided Barkley with Chelsea’s winner. What a future this man has.

Saul Niguez - 6

It has not worked out how he or Chelsea would have wanted. Helped the home side take complete control in midfield.

N’Golo Kante - 7

Controlled the game throughout – driving high up the pitch to continually force Watford into retreat.

Kenedy - 6

A bright start as he powered down the left wing – typified by his excellent cross for Havertz’s opener.

Mason Mount - 7

A constant threat to Watford by running in behind the defence and stretching them out of shape.

Kai Havertz - 8

One of his best performances of the season. Scored one, hit the bar and forced Daniel Bachmann into a good save.

Hakim Ziyech - 7

Threatening throughout. Drifted around the front to expose gaps in the Watford defence.

Substitutes

Malang Sarr (Kenedy, 59’) - 5

Solid performance when coming on for Kenedy.

Ross Barkley (Rudiger, 66’) - 7

Chelsea’s most threatening player for the time he was on the pitch – and came up with the winner. What a way to sign off if this was his last game.

Ben Chilwell (Mount, 89’) - N/A

Welcome back.
