Chelsea are set to face a battle in keeping midfield star Mason Mount at the club ahead of the summer transfer window. The Cobham academy graduate has been linked with a number of sides as his current contract dwindles, with plenty of uncertainty surrounding his place in the squad.
Mount has been a stalwart in the side since breaking into the first-team, but this season has presented new challenges that he has had to face. Since the arrival of a host of new signings last summer and this January, the 24-year-old has had cameo appearances in a tough run of form.
"Mason has been great to work with," manager Graham Potter said recently on the struggles of the midfielder. "He’s been top. He’s suffering like the rest of us because we want to do better, we want better results."
