Chelsea news: Todd Boehly reacts to Raheem Sterling move as next signing already lined up

Chelsea owner Todd Boehly has explained exactly why the club have signed Raheem Sterling.

Blues owner Boehly has become personally involved in the club's transfer negotiations after purchasing the club in May, and he's now given his verdict on the first signing of his tenure in charge.

It comes as Boehly already has the Blues' next signing lined up with Paris Saint-Germain centre-back Presnel Kimpembe next on his wishlist. And Mason Mount has spoken about his excitement at linking up with England teammate Raheem Sterling at Stamford Bridge.

Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen both left the club earlier this summer after their contracts expired and Tuchel now wants to replace one of them by reuniting with French defender Kimpembe.

The German coach managed Kimpembe during his time in charge of PSG, and the French side are willing to part ways with him this summer.

The two stars have played alongside each other for England, and Mount is already excited about linking up at club level as well. Mount says that Sterling will "bring our levels higher" and explained how he'd already "learnt a lot off him over the last couple of years".

And the midfielder shared his excitement at the Blues' latest piece of transfer business.
