Frenkie de Jong second hijack
Chelsea are expected to make progress in negotiations for the Dutchman next week with Barcelona in a rush to make a big sale in order for them to register their new signings under La Liga regulations. The Blues seemed to have leapfrogged Man United in the running for the midfielder but it seems the Bernardo Silva plan could hinder Todd Boehly's attempts at landing the Dutch international.
This is because as per Spanish Journalist Gerard Romero, he has reported that from what he's heard from agents, De Jong will go to Paris Saint-Germain whilst Marco Verratti will join Man City and Silva will be able to join the Camp Nou to form the triangle in this scenario. Whether this turns out to be true remains to be seen but it's important to remember that this is the same journalist who reported on Friday that Chelsea are 'hot' on the case of the 25-year-old.

Timo Werner exit imminent
Timo Werner's RB Leipzig return is 'almost done' as Chelsea could then turn to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to sort out transfer situation amid Kai Havertz and Armando Broja conundrum.
As per Sky Germany's Florian Plettenberg, the Chelsea attacker is on the verge of re-joining his former club due to the 'positive' developments in the last few days. He goes on to add that a total agreement is expected next week for a deal that's likely to be a loan with an option to buy but that's not 100% certain just yet. This news was always just around the corner with the German international's exclusion from the squad for Everton hinting that an immediate exit was near.
Although Fabrizio Romano has gone on record to say his famous three words 'here we go' as well as clarifying that it will be a permanent transfer, although the figure for the sum of money the Red Bull-owned club will pay is still unknown currently.

Alan Shearer makes Chelsea striker claim
Alan Shearer suggests Chelsea need to find a new striker before the September 1 deadline amid Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang transfer links.
"I think they have made some very good signings but as I was speaking for centre-forwards for Everton, there's no doubt Chelsea need that forward as well," Shearer analysed on BBC Match of the Day. "I know they have got [Armando] Broja but it may take time for him.
"In the meantime, they have lost [Romelu] Lukaku, so they need a centre-forward as well."
