Werner's favourite position
Timo Werner was a surprise inclusion against Southampton in the Premier League on Saturday and manager Thomas Tuchel gave an insight into his best position.
The German striker has struggled to earn minutes for the Blues but started up front and immediately repaid Tuchel, scoring two goals in a comprehensive 6-0 win against the Saints. Romelu Lukaku was conspicuous by his absence, having failed to make the matchday squad and Tuchel explained why.
"He was not in training yesterday," Tuchel told Sky Sports when asked why Lukaku did not feature over the weekend.
Blues fans sing Abramovich's name
Chelsea fans have once again chanted Roman Abramovich's name during a match, this time in Saturday's win over Southampton.
Supporters have been warned against doing so after the outgoing club owner was sanctioned by the UK government, who said in a statement: "I think people can show passion and support for their club without resorting to that sort of stuff.” That statement was released after fans sung Abramovich's name during a pre-match show of solidarity with Ukraine ahead of last month’s fixture against Burnley.
Rudiger contract issues
Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger is out of contract in the summer but could yet stay.
With the German able to speak to other clubs and sign a deal at the end of the season, many have assumed Rudiger's future lay away from Stamford Bridge. But there may be a scenario in which Rudiger stays in west London with sides struggling to meet his wage demands.
Chelsea are currently unable to re-sign players due to the sanctions imposed on them by the UK government.
