Chelsea legend Petr Cech says he is 'devastated' at the ongoing situation in Ukraine as the club's owner Roman Abramovich has been hit with sanctions by the UK Government over his ties to Vladimir Putin.
The Stamford Bridge outfit were plunged into chaos on Thursday when sanctions were imposed on their owner, meaning the Blues can no longer sell tickets or merchandise, buy or sell players or offer new contracts.
It has led to the club's sponsors Three, Hyundai and Zapp temporarily suspending their contracts with the club, leading to Sky Sports having to make a unique decision during their coverage of Chelsea vs Newcastle.
And technical director Cech has opened up on the ongoing situation in Ukraine and inside Stamford Bridge.
Abramovich is attempting to sell the club which he purchased in 2003 for £140million from Ken Bates – who has also had his say on the situation.

Bates slams sanctions
Ex-Chelsea owner Ken Bates has slammed the sanctions placed on the Blues and Roman Abramovich.
Bates, who bought the club for just £1 in 1982 before selling to Abramovich 19 years later, sarcastically claimed Vladimir Putin will be "s******* himself" over the fact fans can't buy a matchday programme at Stamford Bridge.
He also said the sanctions will lead to "ordinary people suffering" as he launched a scathing attack on the sanctions that have been imposed.
Cech shares Ukraine 'devastation'
Chelsea legend Petr Cech says he is "devastated to see what has been happening in Ukraine" amid the ongoing Russian invasion which has now engulfed the Stamford Bridge outfit in drama as well.
In an update on the club's situation after the government added owner Roman Abramovich to its sanctioned individuals list on Thursday, Cech says the club is now surviving "day by day".
Cech, who now serves as a technical and performance advisor for Chelsea, gave a wide-ranging interview with Sky Sports ahead of the top-flight clash against Newcastle as he spoke about the situation in Ukraine, the club's uncertainty and their conversations with the UK government.
Sky Sports makes sponsor decision
Chelsea took part in their Premier League tie against Newcastle United on Sunday with their sponsors logos still emblazoned on their shirts.
Three, Hyundai and Zapp all requested to "temporarily suspend" its deal with Chelsea after Roman Abramovich was sanctioned by the UK Government in the wake of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, but the logos were still visible during Sunday's Premier League tie.
And the temporary suspension of the sponsorship deals led to Sky Sports making a rather unique decision when it came to displaying the Chelsea shirts prior to kick-off.
