James breaks silence on England squad World Cup heartbreak
Reece James has broken his silence on his omission from the England squad ahead of the World Cup later this month. The 22-year-old defender was a huge doubt for the international tournament after suffering a knee injury in Chelsea's 2-0 win over AC Milan last month.
Taking to Twitter, James revealed his despair at missing out on representing the Three Lions in Qatar while also providing an update on his absence. He wrote: "Devastated. The minute I injured my knee, I knew the turn around to make the World Cup would be tight, but I always felt it was possible.
"I've worked harder than I ever thought I could to give myself the best chance of going and truly believed | could help the team. I appreciate there was risk on both sides but it was one I was willing to take. Good luck to the boys. I'll be back soon. Stay safe & sending love."

Man City hold advantage over Chelsea in Bellingham race
Chelsea look to be at a huge disadvantage in the race to sign Jude Bellingham. The 19-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League for some time now as he continues to impress at Borussia Dortmund.
With Todd Boehly in the market for a new midfielder amid the uncertain futures of N'Golo Kante and Jorginho, the Blues are one of several European giants keen to acquire Bellingham's services, according to The Athletic. But, the Blues could miss out again with Pep Guardiola's side believed to have a strong relationship with Dortmund.
Mike Keegan of the Daily Mail has stated that it's likely Bellingham 'ends up' at the Etihad Stadium. And 'initial conversations' between City and the German giants have already taken place.
