Chelsea news: Conor McGregor repeats interest as Roman Abramovich faces limited options

Chelsea continued their winning ways on Saturday as they beat Burnley 4-0 at Turf Moor.

As uncertainty around the future of the ownership of the club remains, the Blues got the job done on the field.

There were plenty of moments on the field for fans to celebrate, from Reece James returning to form after time out with injury to manager Thomas Tuchel addressing supporters chanting Roman Abramovich’s name during a minute’s applause in support of Ukraine.

Abramovich has placed the club for sale for £3billion which has limited who can take the team off his hands.

But UFC fighter Conor McGregor has put himself forward as possible buyer.

McGregor's Blues interest

With Chelsea for sale and Roman Abramovich looking for a buyer, one name has gained a lot of traction over the past few days.

UFC fighter Conor McGregor has stated his intentions of buying a Premier League club - because, well, he knows it'll generate headlines.

Having once made an offer to buy the team he supports, Manchester United, the Irishman has seemingly switched his attention to the Blues.

"I do not speak in jest. I am exploring this, as I said. Celtic from Dermot Desmond, Manchester United from the Glazers, and now the recently up for sale Chelsea Football Club,” said McGregor.

Tuchel makes Lukaku plans more clear

Romelu Lukaku will continue to be the Premier League’s most-expensive bench warmer because of Kai Havertz.

Havertz underlined his status as Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel’s number one striker with his double against Burnley.

The German forward is above Lukaku in Chelsea’s pecking order of strikers and gets the big gigs from Tuchel.
