Chelsea's Callum Hudson-Odoi could switch his international allegiance from England to Ghana in time for the World Cup later this year.
The Blues winger made his England debut during the Three Lions' 5-0 win over Czech Republic in March 2019 but could still make the switch to playing for Ghana. He would qualify to play for the African nation through his dad Bismark Odoi, a Ghanaian ex-pro who spent much of his career with Accra-based team Hearts of Oak.
It comes as Thomas Tuchel has been sent a tactical message by Blues icon Carlton Cole amid Romelu Lukaku's struggles at Stamford Bridge. And Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta could yet be allowed to leave the club on a free transfer, despite his contract being extended by a year.

Azpilicueta could yet leave
Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta could still leave the club on a free transfer this summer despite the defender's contract being extended.
Barcelona have been strongly linked with a move for the defender, with his contract set to expire at the end of the season. But those plans may have been put on ice after it emerged the Spaniard has made enough appearances in a Blues shirt this season to trigger an automatic one-year extension to his current deal.
Although it has now emerged that he could still be allowed to walk away from the club for nothing this summer as a courtesy for his services to the Stamford Bridge outfit.
Tuchel sent tactics message
Chelsea icon Carlton Cole has told Thomas Tuchel to change his tactics to "suit" Romelu Lukaku.
The Belgium international returned to Stamford Bridge last summer in a club-record £97.5million deal but has struggled since coming back to west London. The forward also took part in an interview with Sky Italia last year where he revealed he is unhappy with his situation at Stamford Bridge, with speculation mounting over his future at the club.
But Cole believes Lukaku would be better suited to his side "playing a deep line and counter-attacking".
Hudson-Odoi 'considering' switch
Callum Hudson-Odoi could switch international allegiances in time for this year's World Cup.
The Blues winger qualifies to play for Ghana through his father, and would be allowed to switch sides despite having made three appearances for England. The last of his England caps came way back in 2019 when he played against Kosovo.
But players can switch if they have played no more than three competitive matches at senior level prior to them turning 21 including no appearances in FIFA World Cup finals matches or continental finals. and that means Hudson-Odoi culd be set to play in the World Cup in Qatar later this year.
