Chelsea's season is yet to truly get started and they are now 14 games in, 16 points adrift of league-leaders Arsenal and eight points off of another one of their London rivals Tottenham in fourth.
The good feeling that greeted Graham Potter’s arrival at Stamford Bridge is long gone off the back of three notable defeats to Brighton, Arsenal and Manchester City in the last two weeks.
Another 1-0 loss at St. James' Park at the hands of in-form Newcastle has ramped the pressure right up on Potter so soon into his reign. The Blues now languish as low as eighth in the Premier League table.
Chelsea could even be leapfrogged by local rivals Fulham should the Cottagers topple Manchester United on Sunday.

After a bright start, Potter is now seriously under pressure at Chelsea and defeat by Newcastle ensured he equalled a record he'd have hoped to steer clear of.
The former Brighton boss has now won just two of his last eight games at the helm, but Saturday's showing marked the third successive Premier League defeat for the Blues.
This current run is the first time Chelsea have lost three league games in a row since November 2015, which came during Jose Mourinho's final season as Blues manager.
To add insult to injury, the 1-0 loss at Newcastle means Chelsea are still yet to topple any of the sides currently sat inside the Premier League table's top seven.
Souness unsure on Chelsea
Liverpool legend Graeme Souness has admitted he fears for Chelsea's Champions League qualification hopes this season.
"I think Chelsea are in jeopardy, a lot depends on what they do in the transfer window. Arsenal are looking convincing at the moment, they look like a really good team. But I think everyone is playing for second place this season," he told talkSPORT.
The former Red-turned-prominent pundit went on to explain how Chelsea should view the January transfer window as the perfect chance to gain some momentum and add the right players to the ranks - players Potter wants, players that will make it 'his' team.
Souness went on to explain he thinks the top four will be made up of Man City, Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham come the end of the season.
Unknown Blues prospect joins pre-Newcastle training
Before the clash at St. James’ Park, Potter opted to promote teenage defender Bashir Humphreys into first-team training.
The 19-year-old is yet to make his senior Chelsea debut but has shone at Under-21 level so far this term and regularly dons the armband.
There had been hope Humphreys would get a run out away at Manchester City in the Carabao Cup in the week after he was left out of the Under-21 side, but it wasn’t to be.
It was a similar situation against Newcastle but the vote of confidence to promote Humphreys into the first-team fold for however briefly would suggest Potter sees something in him.
