Chelsea boss Graham Potter has come under fire in recent weeks after a difficult run of form with the Blues across all competitions. While results were ticking along at the start, a nose dive in form coincided with the loss of some key players through injury - now mounting to as many as 10 first-team stars out at one time.
It has led to increased pressure on the new manager as his team sit in 10th, knocked out of both domestic cup competitions and in need of some results. In all, it has led to Potter being among the favourites to be sacked by the bookmakers, reflecting the tough job on his hands.
The former Brighton coach addressed recent discontent from the fans too, telling reporters: "It’s always challenging in the Premier League and it’s always challenging here. I understand their [the fans'] frustration and I understand when you look at results and the team performance today that it is far away from Manchester City. That’s clear. We have to focus on the next day, the next match."

As it currently stands, the new ownership regime remain unchanged in their support of Potter, even despite the difficult run and a potential lack of Champions League - and possibly any European football at all. However, as things get even tougher at the club, the fan pressure could take its toll.
Should that happen, there's already interest in the next manager job at Stamford Bridge as potential candidates eye a move to west London. One of those is former Tottenham and PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino as the Sun reports that the Argentinian is waiting in the wings should the position become available.
Should he make the move to Chelsea, it would see a huge U-turn on a point he made about managing rivals in the future during his time at Spurs.
"I am never going to be manager of Barcelona or Arsenal because I am so identified with Tottenham and Espanyol," Pochettino said back in November 2019. "I grew up in Newell's Old Boys and will never manage Rosario Central. That is my decision because I prefer to work on my farm in Argentina than in some places."
His affiliation to Spurs hasn't stopped interest in joining Chelsea, if the report is to be believed, which could see him repeat a feat from the great Jose Mourinho. The Portuguese head coach stated he would also never manage rivals, only to follow his two stints at Chelsea with spells at Manchester United and then Tottenham.
It remains to be seen if any change in management will come in the near future, however there's no shortage of options seemingly at the new board's hands.
