Edouard Mendy’s contractual situation is “between the club and the player” insists Chelsea manager Graham Potter.

The Sun claim the Senegal international has rejected the offer of a new deal at Stamford Bridge, with his current contract set to expire in the summer of 2025.

AC Milan, Monaco and Nice have all been linked with a move for Mendy, who has fallen down the pecking order since Potter’s arrival despite playing a key role in the Blues’ 2021 Champions League win.

Kepa Arrizabalaga has been restored as the club’s No.1 and looks set to continue when the Premier League resumes after the World Cup.

Chelsea face a number of difficult contractual decisions over the coming months. Both Jorginho and N’Golo Kante will be free agents in the summer and Standard Sport understands Barcelona are circling.

While the Blues would be willing to extend their deals, Kante’s fitness issues could see his wage lowered, while Jorginho recently refused to discuss his long-term future.

Of Mendy, Potter said: “That’s with the club and with the player, I can’t comment. Mendy, he’s a great guy and he’s been absolutely top with me and with Chelsea”.
