Chelsea are reportedly pondering the possibility of making Joao Felix's loan move from Atletico Madrid permanent in the summer. The forward has impressed since his January arrival and has been one of the Blues' most consistent performers.
Felix has scored only two goals since moving to west London but has been one of the club's most dangerous outlets of attack in the second half of the season. The Portuguese arrived after interest from Arsenal, extending his contract at Atletico Madrid prior to his move.
However, the decision to commit his long-term future to the La Liga side doesn't necessarily mean he will remain in the Spanish capital. Atleti were keen to tie the 23-year-old's deal to protect his value if they were to offload him in the future, which football.london understands is a real possibility.

Now, with the club continuing to look for a new manager for next season, it has been reported that Chelsea 'want to keep' Felix beyond the summer. According to Fabrizio Romano, the club hierarchy are 'very happy' with Felix's impact and the Portugal international is open to remaining at the club.
Felix has already discussed his future in England after becoming a fan favourite amongst the Stamford Bridge fanbase. "If I want to stay or not, the future nobody knows," he said in March.
"We don't know what will happen. I am here and the club is so big, it's amazing. Everyone behind the club is so good so I am happy to be here."
There are a number of factors that could contribute to Felix's future. The next man in the dug-out at Stamford Bridge is set to play a key role in Felix's decision whilst the matter of Diego Simeone's future at the Estadio Metropolitano remains up in the air.
