Chelsea loanee expects transfer, Tiemoue Bakayoko surprise and Cesar Casadei given warning

While was plenty going on and to delve into at Stamford Bridge this weekend, following Chelsea's 1-0 defeat to Southampton, there was also now shortage of Blues interest outside of west London. While the likes of Gabriel Slonina, Harvey Vale, Jayden Wareham, Bryan Fiabema, Ethan Wady and Lucas Bergstrom have all been recalled from stints away, the loan arrmy remains active.

Chelsea still have more than 20 players plying their trade elsewhere throughout the football pyramid and in Europe. football.london takes a look at how they all got on.

Nathan Baxter - The goalkeeper has not been named in Hull's EFL squad for the remainder of the season as he recovers from injury with Chelsea.

Eddie Beach - The young goalkeeper kept a clean sheet as Chelmsford City defeated Tonbridge thanks to a 96th minute winner from Liam Trotter.

Jamie Cumming - The 23-year-old stopper twice conceded five goals as MK Dons lost 5-0 against Bolton and 5-2 against Sheffield Wednesday.

Teddy Sharman-Lowe - Havant & Waterlooville defeated Taunton Town 3-2 as Sharman-Lowe presided over the net.

Max Merrick - The 17-year-old goalkeeper was on the bench as Hanwell Town lost 3-0 Salisbury.

Malang Sarr - The French defender returned from injury to start in the centre of defence as Monaco defeated Brest.

Ethan Ampadu - The Wales international returned to the centre of defence following his ban as Spezia fell 2-0 to Juventus. Ampadu was utilised in three different positions during the game being used in a back three and back four and feature as a defensive midfielder in the loss. The versatile star produced an accomplished performance in which he wasn't dribbled past, won each of his ground duels and showed some impressive passing.

Levi Colwill - The Brighton loanee is expected to be fit enough to return for the Seagulls FA Cup match against Stoke City next week.

Bashir Humphreys - The young defender attended Chelsea's match against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League and was absent from the squad as Paderborn defeated Kaiserslautern 1-0.

Malo Gusto - The defender headed to Cobham to undergo rehabilitation for the injury suffered at Lyon. The 19-year-old is expected to spend eight to 10 weeks in the country with his hamstring injury under supervision from medical staff. Graham Potter is pleased to have been able to start getting to know him as a positive of unfortunate circumstances.

He said in his press conference: "Malo is here to help with his rehab, the club made that decision. But it’s nice to meet him and nice to see him in person around the building. But we’re just trying to help him get back fit."

Henry Lawrence - The defender made his first start since New Year's Day in MK Dons' 5-0 defeat against Bolton and returned to the bench for a three-minute outing against Sheffield Wednesday.

Ian Maatsen - The defender continued to show his presence going forward as Burnley earned a 1-0 win over Luton Town.

Sam McClelland - The Northern Irish defender put in an impressive outing as Barrow earned a 1-0 win over Bradford.

Baba Rahman - Missed Reading's defeat to Cardiff City due to the injury he picked up in the Royals' win over Rotherham. He could be back from his rolled ankle to face Blackpool.

Dujon Sterling - Could not stop his Stoke side from falling to defeat against Blackpool.

Tino Anjorin - The midfielder remains registered on loan at Huddersfield Town but is expected to remain out for the season following his ankle surgery and is rehabbing at Cobham.

Tiemoue Bakayoko - The midfielder made his first Milan appearance for nine months when he came off the bench in the win against Monza.

Xavier Simons - The young midfielder made his full league debut in Hull's draw against Preston and put in an exciting performance where he looked at home on the ball. The 20-year-old once again drew praise from City boss Liam Rosenoir.

“He played the game like an experienced pro. For a midfield player to play like that at 19 years old was absolutely outstanding, but expect that from him, because he’s going to be a top player," said Rosenior.

Reports suggest that a permanent deal is close for the midfielder and Simons is expecting as much. He told Hull Live: "Liam's been open to me and said how much he wants me here at the club moving forwards. I see the project, and I believe in it, and that's to get us back in the Premier League.

"I want to play a part in that. It's between both clubs now to sort things out, when that is I don't know, but I'm ready whenever."

He added: "The situation with Chelsea, I don’t really see a pathway there for me now, and coming here is men’s football at an amazing club playing football the way I want to play, so my development, it’s going to be amazing."

Cesare Casadei - The Italian missed out on Reading's most recent squad and Paul Ince has indicated that it could happen again as the midfielder adjusts to men's football.

"He’s only 20," the Reading manager said. "When you come from Inter Milan, [there is] the culture shock of coming to another country.

"To be fair he did okay in the first game [against Watford], but he is 20, and you look at him in training, and you think he just needs a bit more experience - even in training and the tempo we train at. You’ve got to remember he’s coming from Italy, trained with the U21s or U23s – it’s not the same tempo as men’s football."

Ince added: "He (Casadei) is probably one of those where he’ll get better in the next two, three weeks once he knows the tempo and pace of the game. The Championship is a tough, tough league. I thought about putting him in at Cardiff but with Mamadou Loum coming back (from suspension) and Tyrese Fornah getting a winner on Tuesday (against Rotherham United)...so hopefully we'll see a lot more of him.

“He’s still 20, but he’s still growing into his body. We’ll see a lot more of him this season."

Romelu Lukaku - Romelu Lukaku scored the opening goal of the game from the penalty spot as Inter Milan prevailed 3-1 over Udinese.

Callum Hudson-Odoi - Hudson-Odoi played just two minutes in defeat to Monaco before starting for Bayer Leverkusen against Mainz where he was replaced at half-time. The winger has also spoken about his thoughts on Chelsea's additions and his future.

"I have not spoken to them [Chelsea] much recently at all," he said. "I am not there so seeing all these players coming, there is nothing I can say or do. At the end of the day, I am focused on the club here and trying to help as much as possible here. Whatever happens in the future, I do not know. All I can do is focus on what happens here."
