Former Chelsea captain John Terry has aimed a brutal dig at rivals Arsenal, claiming he has won more trophies in golf since he retired than the Gunners. It comes as the former Blues man defended the position of his club in the Premier League in comparison, despite them sitting tenth.
The west London outfit have had a rocky year when it comes to stability, firstly put under threat with uncertainty surrounding Roman Abramovich's tenure as owner. Boehly-Clearlake won the race to buy the club, but had little time to get their feet under the table before there was a need to invest in the squad.
The summer window was busy but hardly had the success many were wishing for, with plenty of the signings failing to hit the heights so far in their early Chelsea careers. There was then the controversial decision to dismiss popular head coach Thomas Tuchel, with a new vision in hand for the direction of the club.

Up stepped Graham Potter, who made the leap from Brighton along with a whole host of backroom staff, but it has been far from plain sailing for the new boss. A string of injury concerns and poor results leave the side in mid-table and struggling for any form heading into the latter half of the season.
A whopping £324million investment in January followed and with it will come a weight of new expectation at the club as additions settle in. Despite that, Arsenal fan Piers Morgan decided to hit out at the Blues, taking to Twitter to say: "Reminder to Chelsea fans: we’re top of the League, you’re 10th, and we’re 21pts ahead of you with a game in hand. So spend all the gazillions you want but what you REALLY need to buy is a telescope to look up at Arsenal."
Former Chelsea defender Terry hit back, claiming: "You have gone missing for 20 years ! And you still have a long way to go…I have won more trophies since I retired playing golf than Arsenal have."
