Chelsea hit with Ben Chilwell and Mykhailo Mudryk injury blows as Moises Caicedo passed fit

Chelsea midfielder Moises Caicedo is set to be fit to face Burnley on Saturday, in a much-needed injury boost for Mauricio Pochettino.

Mykhailo Mudryk, however, was still being assessed today and it is unclear if he will be available for the game.

Caicedo was forced off late on during Monday's 2-0 win at Fulham following a collision with Willian.

Pochettino said after the game that the £115million summer signing had suffered bruising but Chelsea are optimistic he will recover in time for the trip to Turf Moor. Mudryk had to be substituted at half-time on Monday with a quad injury and is a doubt.

Caicedo's expected availability is welcome news for Chelsea. They suffered another injury blow yesterday when Ben Chilwell was ruled out until December with a hamstring issue, leaving them without a left-back.

Chilwell said: "I can't catch a break, believe me. All I can do now is help the team as best as I can from the sidelines until I can get back to giving everything for the club on the pitch again."

Reece James, Christopher Nkunku, Trevoh Chalobah, Wesley Fofana and Benoit Badiashile all remain sidelined, while Malo Gusto is suspended for the Burnley game.

James and Chalobah hope to be back from hamstring injuries for difficult fixtures after the international break against Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester City.
