Chelsea hint at five more transfers after revealing squad numbers for new season

Four senior Chelsea players have been told that their futures lie away from Stamford Bridge - while young ace Levi Colwill is heading out on loan.

The England Under-21 international defender impressed on loan at Huddersfield last season in the Championship, playing a key role in their run to the play-off final - ultimately scoring the own goal that sent Nottingham Forest into the top flight at the Terriers' expense.

Despite being highly-rated by coaching staff at the club's Cobham training ground, Colwill is set to join Brighton for the upcoming campaign. The 19-year-old wants to test himself in the Premier League but Thomas Tuchel isn't ready to promote him into his senior defensive ranks - allowing the Seagulls to step in and snap up a player they believe will be a future senior England star. They're ready to bank £25million on his talent next summer if there's still no pathway at Stamford Bridge.

In addition to Colwill, Ross Barkley, Kenedy, Billy Gilmour and Michy Batshuayi have all been told they can look for new clubs.

All four have spent time on loan away from Stamford Bridge at one time or another during their respective tenures in west London. Gilmour is being lined up by former Blues boss Frank Lampard for a temporary stint at Everton, having struggled to impress on loan at Norwich last term.

He could still have a long-term future at the club, but new owner Todd Boehly is hoping to cut the club's losses on the other three permanently - but might again have to settle for loan deals.

Batshuayi, who needs game time to make Belgium's World Cup squad, is a target for both Wolves and Everton, as they seek additions to their frontline before the transfer window closes. However, both are understood to only be seeking loan deals.

The Belgian striker, who spent last season at Besiktas, has lost his No.23 shirt to Conor Gallagher. Gallagher, back at the Blues following a successful loan spell at Crystal Palace, takes the shirt number that he wore during his stint at Selhurst Park and which has also previously been worn by Gilmour.

Gallagher has ultimately taken Barkley's place in Tuchel's squad. Barkley featured on occasion last term - having been on loan at Aston Villa the previous year - but has been offered around this summer. As yet, there are no takers.

Meanwhile, young striker Armando Broja, a summer target for a number of clubs including West Ham United, will wear the No.18. The Albanian international is backing himself to impress and take any opportunities presented back at the club following last season's loan at Southampton. Harvey Vale has not been handed a squad number and is expected to head out on loan to gain more first team experience.

Latest signing Carney Chukwuemeka, who joined this week from Aston Villa in a £20million move, has been handed the No.30 shirt. Big money signing Raheem Sterling takes the No.17 shirt following his move from Manchester City and Kalidou Koulibaly is the club's new No.26
