Chelsea have £4.1m January transfer bargain as Kalidou Koulibaly World Cup fear emerges

Your morning Chelsea transfer round-up from football.london on Saturday, November 19.

Depay bargain

Chelsea could re-enter the frame to sign Barcelona and Netherlands attacker Memphis Depay.

The former Manchester United winger is set to showcase his talents at the winter World Cup in Qatar but could be on the move shortly after the tournament finishes.

Depay is out of contract at the end of the season and has struggled for fitness this season with Xavi only handing him two league appearances. Depay is likely to be a key player for his country at the World Cup though and Chelsea will be one of the clubs looking with interest.

Edouard Mendy breaks silence

Edouard Mendy has spoken out regarding his Chelsea future ahead of the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

The No.1 situation is complex at Stamford Bridge with Kepa looking likely to leave last summer, his resurgence has since mudded the water over what the Blues do in the market though as Mendy stalls on a contract extension and endures his worst period of form since signing in 2020.

Pau Torres early transfer

Villarreal defender Pau Torres may be the answer to Graham Potter's defensive crisis as the centre-back is reportedly available for cheap in January.

The left-footer has been looked at by both Manchester United and Tottenham in the past with the Blues also registering their own interest in the 25-year-old.

As Potter tries to overcome a host of backline injuries he may well look to the market in January, especially with Thiago Silva, Cesar Azpilicueta and Kalidou Koulibaly all putting more minutes into their legs during the World Cup.
