Chelsea and fast Premier League starts usually go hand in hand.
The Blues have had a great record of opening their Premier League campaign with a positive result, whether that be a win or draw. It's a record that manager Thomas Tuchel will want to keep up this season when his side takes to the field for the first time in 2022/23.
Saturday, August 6 at 5:30pm is when Tuchel's side take to the field for the curtain raiser to a season which promises so much. They will have to enact revenge on their first opponents for the new season as Frank Lampard's Toffees side looks to replicate their 1-0 success back at the end of last season at Goodison Park.

This time around though, as it's a season opener, three points and a fast start are the main incentive riding on this Goodison Park clash.
But who is the most likely team to pick up maximum points in this affair? Although Chelsea's record in Merseyside is indifferent, their form at the start of seasons is usually electric as demonstrated by recent research.
According to the OLBG, Chelsea rank second for making the best starts to Premier League campaigns according to this research. Their 104 points collected from opening day victories which equates to 64% is just behind the 110 points City have accumulated on opening days over the last decades.
Interestingly enough, the third place team last term averaged 2.12 goals on the opening days and have won 31 times on the season opener. Some of those wins have been big victories against the likes of Everton and Wolves.
In comparison to their opponents for the opening day Everton, they rank seventh in this specific table as they have only won 82 points to date which equates to a win percentage of 44%.
The Toffees have averaged 1.64 goals on opening day fixtures while they have conceded an alarming 71 goals on the first day of the season, which will be music to the ears of Tuchel.
But it won't just be statistics that determine the outcome of this opening day fixture; respective transfer business could also play a key part. The smart signings of Raheem Sterling, Kalidou Koulibaly and potentially more could tilt the pendulum heavily in favour of the away team for this fixture and Tuchel knows just how important transfers are if he and his side are to have a good 2022/23 campaign.
"I have a figure I think we need a couple more players in to improve the squad," Tuchel said in his Charlotte pre-match press conference.
"We were third last season. We cannot discuss the reason forever but there was a gap between us Manchester City and Liverpool. I think in general if you want to keep your position if you want to fight for the same position you need to improve you cannot stand still.
"If you stand still other teams will overtake you. Given the position that we even lost players its common sense that we need to bring new quality to the team to maintain our level. Not even speaking about improving our level, so this is the situation where we are right now.
"It's the dream of any manager that you find players in your own league, that can adapt very quickly. But it's an individual process. Of course, we see that Raheem knows many players from the national team and he is very familiar with the habits in English clubs. This is nice to see.
"For Kalidou, it's a big help we have some French guys, that we have Edou (Mendy), his teammate from the national team, and Jorgi who is a big help from Napoli. It makes the process of integration faster because this is huge and both of them should be huge players for us. This is why we need to speed things up."
