Nathan Baxter is close to joining Bolton Wanderers on a free transfer after being released by Chelsea.
The 24-year-old goalkeeper was among the 13 players the club let go last week, along with the likes of Tiemoue Bakayoko.
Bolton have a contract offer on the table to make Baxter their first-choice goalkeeper as they look to gain promotion back into the Championship.
They look set to beat the likes of Israeli giants Maccabi Haifa, who outbid other clubs and are in the Champions League, with Baxter keen to rise back through the English league system.
Championship side Huddersfield Town registered late interest and newly relegated Reading, now in League One, are also set to be turned down.
Chelsea supporter Baxter has been at the club since he was eight years old but never made a senior appearance for the club.
