Chelsea given Kylian Mbappe 'green light' as Todd Boehly told how to hijack Real Madrid transfer

Florent Malouda has told Todd Boehly how Chelsea can beat Real Madrid to the signing Kylian Mbappe. The 24-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to the Santiago Bernabeu for a while now as he continues to impress for Paris Saint-Germain.

It's said that Mbappe was close to joining the Spanish side in the summer but, after a change of heart, he decided to stay in the French capital and penned a two-year extension. Then, in November, the France international refused to commit his future to PSG following suggestions that an exit was back on the cards.

When quizzed over an alleged transfer request, Mbappe claimed that his focus is on the World Cup. He said: "For now, a second World Cup. After that, I don't know."

However, since, Mbappe has clarified his future at Les Parc des Princes by insisting his desire to win the Champions League with Les Parisiens. Speaking to France 3, as quote by the Mirror, he said: "The next step? Winning the Champions League.

"I have already made a final, semi-final, quarter-final, round of 16... I have done everything but win. That's all I need. Where [I want to do it]? In Paris. I'm a Parisian and under contract. So it's PSG."

With Mbappe closing in on the final 12 months of his deal at PSG, Malouda has told Chelsea how to lure the striker away from Real Madrid. In an interview with ICE 36, the former Blues winger said: "I’ve been campaigning for him to join Chelsea for a very long time! So far, I’ve failed (laughs) but I will keep trying.

"People talk about Real Madrid because he loves that club and he has spoken about playing for them in the future. One thing that you have to understand about Kylian Mbappe is that he knows exactly what he wants out of his football career. He loves football.

"Money won’t be an issue - this isn’t about money for him - he loves to talk about football and he loves football people. For any project in the Premier League that wants to attract him, there will need to be the right connections between him, the coach and the project.

"Hopefully we will see him in the Premier League because that is the most competitive league in the world - it would be great to see him here. There are not that many teams that can give him what he wants and there are not that many teams that can build their team around him. He is a leader, he’s just been appointed the captain of the French national team and he will be looking for a leadership role at his next club, which can create problems.

"You can see what is happening at PSG at the moment - there is always speculation - but what amazes me is how he is always focussed on his football regardless of what is going on. He has an incredible mentality for someone that is still so young. I believe he will come to the Premier League one day, it is just a matter of time and connections."

Then, when asked whether he'll give Boehly a phone call about Mbappe, Maldoua replied: "I think Boehly and everyone in football already knows about Kylian! Any owner would have Mbappe on his list, but it's really about the right connection on a human level. We can talk about the millions he would cost in transfer fees or wages, but it's always the human relationship that has the biggest impact on the decision of any player."
