Chelsea striker Christopher Nkunku has expressed his excitement at seeing Dominik Szoboszlai sign for Liverpool.
The Reds yesterday confirmed the signing of the Hungarian midfielder after triggering the £60million release clause in his RB Leipzig contract. The 22-year-old has now become Liverpool's second addition to the first-team squad of the summer, joining Alexis Mac Allister in making the move to Anfield.
Team-mates at Leipzig, Nkunku and Szoboszlai spent two seasons together in the Bundesliga and claimed two DFB-Pokals during their time at the club. First to seal his switch to the Premier League was the former, whose £52m transfer to the Londoners was announced in January and became active this summer.
The pair will now face off on the opening day of the Premier League campaign when Liverpool make the trip to Stamford Bridge, looking to kick off 2023/24 with three points. Clearly pleased to see Szoboszlai joining him in England, Nkunku posted an image of the Reds' new recruit stood in the Anfield tunnel accompanied by a message of 'Let's go'.

Nkunku is set to form part of a new-look Chelsea side next season, hoping to swiftly move on from their concerning 12th-placed finish. The likes of Edouard Mendy, N'Golo Kante and Kalidou Koulibaly have all sealed transfers to Saudi Arabia, meanwhile the Londoners have also cashed in on Mateo Kovacic and Kai Havertz to Premier League buyers, with Mason Mount soon expected to follow.
It promises to be a challenging first campaign at the helm for Mauricio Pochettino, who has his work cut out to turn Chelsea back into top-four contenders.
