Chelsea will continue to wear the logo of sponsor Three on their match-day shirts despite suspending their partnership with the British telecommunications company.
Three were one of a number of sponsors that have suspended their agreement with the west London club after owner Roman Abramovich was sanctioned by the UK government.
Chelsea wore the same shirts with Three on as they have all season for the 1-0 win over Newcastle on Sunday.
Three are understood to be keen to have their logo taken off of Chelsea's kit while their partnership is on hold.
But the special licence from the government that the club are operating under means they cannot print new shirts.
The Athletic report that discussions are to be held between Chelsea and kit manufacturers Nike to find a resolution for the situation.
Unlike sponsors such as Hyundai and Zapp, as well as Three, Nike are maintaining their kit sponsorship deal with Chelsea, which is reportedly worth an estimated £60million a season.
Three, whose deal is worth £40m-per-year, have asked only to suspend their partnership temporarily while Chelsea try to find a resolution to their ownership problems.

A Three spokesperson said last Thursday: “In light of the government’s recently announced sanctions, we have requested Chelsea Football Club temporarily suspend our sponsorship of the club, including the removal of our brand from shirts and around the stadium until further notice.
“We recognise that this decision will impact the many Chelsea fans who follow their team passionately. However, we feel that given the circumstances, and the Government sanction that is in place, it is the right thing to do.
“As a mobile network, the best way we can support the people of Ukraine is to ensure refugees arriving in the UK from the conflict and customers currently in Ukraine can stay connected to the people who matter to them.
“Therefore, we are offering connectivity packages to all Ukrainians arriving in the UK, and those in Ukraine.”
Under-fire Chelsea owner Abramovich was pictured for the first time in over a month on Monday.
The oligarch, who is in the process of selling Chelsea, was spotted in a VIP airport lounge in Tel Aviv before his private jet took off for Istanbul.
He was last pictured on 12 February before he was spotted in Ben Gurion airport in Israel on Monday, with his jet soon departing for the Turkish capital.
