Chelsea appear to have walked into a trap after knocking Borussia Dortmund out of the Champions League. Karim Adeyemi broke the deadlock at the Signal Iduna Park in the first-leg, catching the Blues on the counter-attack.
The 21-year-old striker glided past Enzo Fernandez before slaloming around Kepa Arrizabalaga and slotting the ball into an empty net. The German giants travelled to Stamford Bridge with a one-goal lead but, desperate to secure a place in the quarter-finals, Graham Potter's side launched out of the blocks.
Raheem Sterling levelled proceedings in the first-half before Kai Havertz controversially handed Chelsea the lead from 12-yards. While Graham Potter's side may be one step closer to winning the Champions League for the second time in two-years, it never seems to end well for those who defeat Dortmund on their path to European glory.

Every team that have knocked the Bundesliga outfit out of a European competition in the last four years have gone on to lose the final. In 2019, Tottenham defeated Dortmund in the Champions League round of 16, winning quite convincingly over over two legs.
Spurs went on to lose in the final to Liverpool. Then, a year later, Paris Saint-Germain knocked the German side out of the Champions League round of 16 too.
The French giants went on to lose against Bayern Munich in the final. In 2021, Manchester City surpassed Dortmund in the quarter-final, winning 4-2 over two legs.
Yes, you guessed it, Pep Guardiola's side went on to lose in the Champions League final as Chelsea reigned superior. Then, in the Europa League last season, Rangers knocked Dortmund out as they waltzed away 6-4 victors.
The Scottish giants, of course, went on to lose in the final to Eintracht Frankfurt. Despite the curse that could end the Blues' Champion League dreams this season, Graham Potter was delighted with the win and is eager to build upon a momentous result.
"Yeah, really pleased," the Chelsea boss said. "The players were tremendous, the supporters were tremendous. You have to be against a team that are doing so well – 10 games on the bounce, winning.
"But I think over the two games we deserved to go through. I think we played a good game in Dortmund but we didn't score, but today we did. It was a special night."
Then, when quizzed on the importance of the victory, the Chelsea boss replied: "To win a game and progress into the last eight of the Champions League, you have to say it's up there in terms of wins and evenings in my career, for sure.
"I watched the first penalty and that didn't work so well. So I thought I'd look at the floor and wait for the crowd to make a noise and thankfully they did. At that point, I can't do anything. It's just down to Kai and Kai's personality and testament and that is obviously at a very high level."
