Chelsea and Liverpool will contest the FA Cup final at Wembley later today.
It is only the second time that English football’s showpiece fixture has been a repeat of the League Cup final from the same season, with the two rivals having played out a thoroughly entertaining scrap back in February, from which Jurgen Klopp’s side emerged victorious after a dramatic penalty shootout.
Thomas Tuchel has played down the idea of revenge but, with a new era dawning at Stamford Bridge, the German would surely relish the chance to put one over his compatriot and end a difficult season with yet another trophy.
Quadruple-chasers Liverpool, meanwhile, have proved the masters of cup competition this season but are eyeing their first FA Cup triumph since 2006. They are also in the Champions League final against Real Madrid on May 28.
