Chelsea are keen to reunite Leandro Trossard with former Brighton boss Graham Potter if they can beat Atlético Madrid in the race for the 27-year-old's signature.
Trossard has starred for the Seagulls this season, initially under Potter's stewardship prior to Roberto De Zerbi's appointment at the AMEX Stadium.
He has netted five goals in just nine games, most notably becoming the first visiting player in 13 years to score a hat-trick at Anfield.

Such form has seen reports from the Mirror suggest that Chelsea are eyeing up a move for the Belgian attacker. Trossard's current deal with Brighton expires in the summer, enhancing the possibility of a cut-price deal being completed.
Upon links to Stamford Bridge, Trossard has previously admitted: “If the opportunity arises, I want to go, but I want to play and not sit on the bench.”
However, the same article also claims that Trossard's contractual position means he is of great interest to Atlético.
Diego Simeone's side are said to be keen on signing free agents given their difficult economic situation and can begin talks over a pre-contract agreement with the former Genk star from January onwards.
A strong World Cup showing for Roberto Martinez's Red Devils could further increase the competition for Trossard's signature. Belgium will face Canada, Morocco and Croatia in Group F.
Chelsea currently boast a wealth of options in attacking areas, with Mason Mount's brace against Aston Villa highlighting such. The likes of Mount, Raheem Sterling, Kai Havertz, Hakim Ziyech and Christian Pulisic all offer Potter strength in depth.
