Chelsea are said to be keeping a watchful eye on Arminia Bielefeld defender Amos Pieper given their own defensive headache this summer. The 24-year-old, who has featured heavily for the Bundesliga side will be out of contract with the side year and stands at an imposing 6ft 4ins.
With Antonio Rudiger set to leave and Andreas Christensen potentially following him out of the exit door this summer, Pieper could perhaps fill the void left by the pairing in defence.
Given the Blues are also said to be highly interested in bringing long term target Jules Kounde to the club too, this summer will be important given the ongoing takeover talks as well.

Chelsea are set to secure Champions League qualification next season given they sit third in the Premier League table at present, but Pieper is yet to experience football at the highest level.
The defender is available on a free in the summer and the Blues have asked to be kept in the loop in regard to his availability, as reported by The Mirror.
Borussia Dortmund, Newcastle United and Southampton are also said to be clubs who have expressed a keen interest, with the 24-year-old also already represented Germany at Under-21 level too.
Starting 26 of Bielfield's 29 Bundesliga clashes in 21/22, his side sit 5 points from safety with just three domestic outings left to play.
