Chelsea dealt major 'race for fitness' ahead of Liverpool final in Carabao Cup

Liverpool Chelsea Carabao Cup Wembley

Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount is 'battling to be fit' for next Sunday's Carabao Cup final against Liverpool.

The 23-year-old suffered an injury during Saturday's Club World Cup final against Brazilian side Palmeiras, forcing him to be withdrawn after just 31 minutes played in the match.

Thomas Tuchel's side went on to win the showpiece fixture, that the Reds also won back in 2019, after a late Kai Havertz penalty sealed a 2-1 victory for the Londoners.
