Chelsea confirm Petr Cech decision after Todd Boehly shakes up Stamford Bridge board

Chelsea technical and performance advisor Petr Cech will leave Stamford Bridge at the end of June, the club confirmed in a statement on Monday morning, ending his three-year spell in the role.

It comes after new co-owner and chairman Todd Boehly confirmed the club's new board of directors. It is a decision that has already seen Bruce Buck leave the club and Marina Granovskaia will join them at the end of the summer transfer window as a new era dawns on Stamford Bridge.

Members of the consortium that completed a takeover from Roman Abramovich were given spots on the board including Hansjorg Wyss and Jonathan Goldstein. The club are yet to confirm who will takeover from the legendary goalkeeper or if he will be replaced at all.

Writing in a statement on the club's official website, Cech said: "It has been a huge privilege to perform this role at Chelsea for the past three years. With the Club under new ownership, I feel now is the right time for me to step aside. I am pleased that the Club is now in an excellent position with the new owners, and I am confident of its future success both on and off the pitch."

Boehly also paid tribute to the Blues hero, writing: "Petr is an important member of the Chelsea family. We understand his decision to step away and thank him for his contributions as an advisor and his commitment to the club and to our community. We wish him the best."
