Chelsea are on the verge of signing Jules Kounde from Sevilla as Thomas Tuchel continues his summer spending spree following the arrivals of Raheem Sterling and Kalidou Koulibaly.
Tuchel unsuccessfully tried to sign the Frenchman last summer but has now finally got his man, with Kounde due to undergo a medical within the next 48 hours, as per The Sun. Kounde has already spoken with Tuchel and even hopes he can join up with the Blues for the last few days of their pre-season tour of the USA.
The 23-year-old has agreed personal terms with the Blues and the club have reportedly agreed to pay Sevilla's asking price of £51million plus £4m in add-ons. He is the second Sevilla centre-back to leave this summer after Diego Carlos completed his big-money switch to Aston Villa earlier in the window.
