Graham Potter has been handed a significant boost ahead of Chelsea's trip to Nottingham Forest on New Year's Day (4:30pm).
Mateo Kovacic and Hakim Ziyech have returned to the Blues' Cobham training ground on Wednesday morning after representing Croatia and Morocco in the World Cup respectively. The pair were in action throughout the tournament and featured in the third-place play-off between the countries which saw Croatia win 2-1.
The duo were then given time off by the Blues, which was the case with every player who represented their countries in Qatar. Both missed Chelsea's 2-0 win over Bournemouth on Tuesday evening but will be available for selection on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Ben Chilwell and Ruben Loftus-Cheek were also spotted out on the grass during Wednesday's training session. Chilwell has been nursing a hamstring injury sustained against Dinamo Zagreb at the end of October, while Loftus-Cheek has missed out due to a thigh problem.
Despite their positive recoveries, Sunday's clash could appear to be too early for them. It is being reported that they will be ready to return in the coming weeks.
