Chelsea beat Club America in Las Vegas thanks to Mason Mount's stunner - 5 talking points

Chelsea Mason Mount Club America Timo Werner Las Vegas Thomas Tuchel Edouard Mendy Raheem Sterling Christian Pulisic Kalidou Koulibaly

Mason Mount smashed a stunning winner to kick off Chelsea's pre-season tour of the US with a win here in Las Vegas.

The England winger curled in an effort from the edge of the box after Timo Werner had hit an opener from close range. Reece James had equalised for Club America with a freak own goal, sending the ball into his own net past third-choice keeper Marcus Bettinelli.

The win caps a productive week for Thomas Tuchel's side. On Thursday they confirmed the capture of England forward Raheem Sterling. On Friday they revealed Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly had completed his £34million switch to Stamford Bridge.
