The second day of the World Cup is upon us and there is plenty of Chelsea interest in the four games in Qatar on Tuesday. It was a mixed day for the Blues stars kicking off their World Cup yesterday with Raheem Sterling and Mason Mount featuring prominently in England's 6-2 victory over Iran.
Senegal's Chelsea duo of Edouard Mendy and Kalidou Koulibaly saw their tournament start with a defeat to the Netherlands. Koulibaly had a steady game in the back line but Mendy was possibly at fault for the opening goal, while there could be no doubt over his error in Davy Klassen's strike deep into added time.
Cody Gakpo beat Mendy to Frenkie De Jong's enticing cross for the opener and the Chelsea goalkeeper then palmed a tame Memphis Depay shot into the path of Klassen.

Benjamin Pavard, who is interested in opportunities outside of Germany, plays his football with Bayern Munich and is expected to start on the right of the back four, although he faces competition from Barcelona's Jules Kounde, who Chelsea were after in the summer.
