Chelsea, Arsenal, West Ham fans vent anger at 'unacceptable' Premier League Boxing Day decision

Arsenal and Chelsea Supporters' Trusts are amongst several organisations venting frustration towards the Premier League once more.

Fixtures due to be played in December and January should have had the TV picks on October 11th, but the announcement has only just come 13 days later - on Monday, October 24th - bringing extreme frustration from fan groups that are already angry with the Premier League's treatment of spectators.

Earlier this month, Chelsea fans were given under two weeks' notice of their game against Manchester United having a 5:30pm kick-off time on a Saturday, despite being chosen as a TV fixture more than one month before. That was a decision that led Chelsea Supporters' Trust to state was 'unacceptable.'

They have now joined Arsenal, Aston Villa, Wolves, West Ham and Newcastle (at the time of writing) in reprimanding the Premier League for its delay over the weekend. Here's how each group responded earlier on Monday before the festive fixture changes were finally revealed:

Chelsea Supporters' Trust:

"The Premier League is now thirteen days late to announce the fixture dates for matches set to be played in December and January. These types of delays have such a negative impact on supporters. We urge you to communicate better with supporters and explain why delays to announcements are faced. The silence is deafening and insulting to us supporters." You can read the full statement

Arsenal Supporters' Trust:

"The fixtures for Boxing Day & the New Year's period were supposed to be confirmed 10 days ago. We're still waiting for news from the Premier League – fans need to plan ahead, transport, & hotel all while balancing their family commitments over the festive period."

West Ham United Supporters' Trust:

Now ten days late – lack of consideration for supporters is unacceptable – we deserve better than this- football is nothing without match-going fans.
