Chelsea and Manchester United appear to have given Tottenham a free run at the chance to sign Bayer Leverkusen star Jonathan Tah, according to reports. The 27-year-old has been heavily linked with an exit from the Bundesliga outfit as Premier League clubs look to bolster their backlines.
Tah, who sees his contract at the BayArena expire in 2025, has featured 26 times for Xabi Alonso's side this season, keeping seven clean sheets. His impressive displays for Leverkusen have attracted the attention of some top teams and, following Fabrizio Romano's latest report, Spurs seem to have the upper hand in proceedings.
It's said that there has been no sign of interest from Chelsea or United, as it stands. Romano states that the German side value the Germany international at around £23million.

90min has previously credited Tottenham with interest in Tah. It's believed that higher-ups at Leverkusen held talks with the north London side last month and the centre-back's name was mentioned in conversations.
Spurs welcomed Pedro Porro and Arnaut Danjuma to Hotpsur Way in the January transfer window. Despite London rivals Chelsea and Arsenal outspending Tottenham, Gary Neville has insisted that Antonio Conte has been sufficiently backed in the transfer market.
"He's signed Yves Bissouma, he's signed Dejan Kulusevski, he's signed Richarlison, he's signed Rodrigo Bentancur, he's signed Cristian Romero," the former United defender said on Sky Sports Monday Night Football last month. "I've probably missed someone out but he's spent £190m worth of signings in two windows and that doesn't include Kulusevski who's still on loan technically.
"The idea that Spurs haven't supported him is wrong. It's a myth. I think both of them should shake hands, sign a two or three-year deal and get themselves right, because it feels in some ways they're wandering down the road aimlessly as if they're not mates.
"Why would they not be mates? Conte's got Tottenham into the Champions League, he's also been back and given £200m to get the players he wants, I'm not sure why these dark clouds are appearing over Spurs. It's going really well at Tottenham, I'd say they're on track for where I thought they'd be."
