Chelsea and Arsenal may have been handed some hope in the race to sign Napoli star Victor Osimhen in the summer, having failed to rule out a possible switch. It comes as both London clubs have been linked with the Nigerian international after an incredible season so far.
The 24-year-old has 22 goal involvements in 19 appearances in Serie A this campaign, helping guide the Azzurri to the top of the league and chasing a first Scudetto in years. The striker could be the answer to Chelsea's goal scoring woes as of late, having struggled to find the back of the net under both Thomas Tuchel and Graham Potter.
The club broke their club-record signing in 2021 to bring Romelu Lukaku back to the Premier League, though his move hasn't worked out as anyone had planned. With just one goal in February and struggling to convert decent expected goals (xG) figures into actual goals, it's clear where one of the main issues remains.

Across London, Arsenal are impressing at the top of the Premier League, though there still remains questions about their quality in depth. Gabriel Jesus struggled to score, but offered plenty in his all-round game, before picking up an injury at the World Cup while Eddie Nketiah has stepped into the injured Brazilian's boots comfortably.
Whether another striker is necessary remains to be seen, but Jorginho has already endorsed a potential switch. Speaking to DAZN, via Football Italia, the Italian international said: “I knew Osimhen. I had played against him in (the) Champions League and he had given a hard time to our defenders. Giuntoli called me before signing him and I told him to sign him straight away, he is very promising and is doing really well.”
Both clubs from the capital may have been handed some hope over a potential move for Osimhen in the summer too as he failed to rule out the possibility of a transfer. He told ESPN: "When you are doing so well, top clubs around the world are watching, mostly in the top five leagues.
"And to be able to be attract interest from these top clubs shows that I am doing great and it gives me the motivation to do even more for myself and my team. But I am focused on Napoli right now and they have the final say. I just want to help my team to win matches and win trophies.
"At the end of the season, we will see what is going to happen, but that is not up to me. It is for the club to decide."
