Emerson Palmieri has agreed to join West Ham United from Chelsea in a deal that could reach £15million – and the Italian's departure will not be the last of the summer transfer window as new co-owner, and interim sporting director Todd Boehly attempts to reshape the first-team squad for Thomas Tuchel.
Talks between Chelsea and the Irons over a permanent deal for Emerson accelerated last week, but the Italian international's initial salary demands put a switch to the London Stadium at risk. However, after a brief pause in discussions last Thursday, an agreement has been reached between the defender and West Ham.
Emerson is understood to be undergoing the first part of his medical today. The second is expected to take place tomorrow ahead of the 28-year-old's move to East London being confirmed. Chelsea will receive a guaranteed £13m for the full-back with a further £2m in add-ons.

There are further outgoings from Stamford Bridge anticipated in the days ahead as the transfer window inches ever closer to its conclusion. The deadline is 11pm on September 1.
football.london understands there is mounting loan interest in Trevoh Chalobah. Premier League sides Tottenham and Aston Villa have sounded out the centre-back over a possible move, while clubs in Serie A – including Inter Milan and Roma – and the Bundesliga are also prepared to borrow the academy graduate.
Chalobah was the breakout star of Chelsea's 2021/22 campaign but saw his game time limited towards the end of last season. He hasn't featured as yet in the Premier League this term and will be pushed further down the pecking order under Tuchel should Wesley Fofana arrive from Leicester City as expected.
Marcos Alonso is still hoping to seal a permanent move to Barcelona but the wing-back has returned to Chelsea training with a deal not yet agreed. The Blues had floated the idea of the Spaniard being included in their bid to bring Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Stamford Bridge.
Another Chelsea academy graduate expected to depart on loan before the transfer window closes is midfielder Billy Gilmour. The Scotland international spent last season with Norwich City but wasn't able to thrive in a struggling side that ended bottom of the Premier League table.
Sources have told football.london that Gilmour, whose contract at Chelsea was extended until 2024 earlier in the summer, has several loan options on the table, but the midfielder is keen to ensure his next step is the right one for his development.
And while there was a surprise recall to the matchday squad for Ethan Ampadu against Leeds United on Sunday, football.london understands a resolution over his future will be made in the coming days. Chelsea are believed to favour a loan move rather than a permanent departure for the Wales international, who is being followed by clubs across Europe.
As first reported by the Italian press, Sassuolo are the latest Serie A side to register their interest in the 21-year-old. Yet they are set to face competition – potentially even from sides in the Premier League – in the final days of the window to secure Ampadu's services.
Further forward, Callum Hudson-Odoi is still hoping to leave Chelsea on loan before the window closes amid interest from the likes of Leicester City, Southampton, and Borussia Dortmund. Christian Pulisic, meanwhile, is likely to remain at Stamford Bridge with no genuine offer received by the Blues as yet.
Hakim Ziyech has been keen to move on all summer and was hopeful of joining AC Milan, but the Serie A champions opted instead to sign Charles De Ketelaere. However, another potential exit route has opened up for the 29-year-old: his former club, Ajax.
football.london understands the Dutch giants contacted Ziyech last week over a possible return to Amsterdam and that a meeting was held yesterday evening with Ajax directors. The Moroccan international is believed to be open to a return, although it will likely be predicated on Brazilian winger Anthony departing.
