Chelsea agree £10m sponsorship deal with cryptocurrency firm BingX

Chelsea have agreed a sleeve sponsorship deal with cryptocurrency company BingX worth more than £10million.

The Blues hope to finalise the multi-year deal in time to display the logo on their shirts when they play Middlesbrough in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final tie next Tuesday night.

The deal will also see BingX appear on the front of Chelsea training kits from next season.

BingX is a cryptocurrency exchange that was founded in 2018 and serves 10 million users worldwide, but is not accessible in the UK.

Their deal with Chelsea will mean that 18 of the 20 Premier League clubs now have crypto partners.

Chelsea’s previous crypto partner WhaleFin terminated a £20m-a-year sleeve sponsorship deal midway through the 2022-23 season, highlighting the potential risks of working with crypto firms.

But Chelsea are keen to increase revenues after they started the season without a shirt sponsor until Infinite Athlete secured a £40m deal in September.

Infinite Athlete will move onto training kit sleeves from next season when their one-year front-of-shirt sponsorship ends, with Chelsea discussing alternative options.

New Saudi State airline Riyadh Air are among the companies to have held talks about advertising on Chelsea kits from the beginning of next season.
