Sweet, bouncy and friendly are the words the team at Dogs Trust Manchester would use to sum up sweet Lulu, who is hoping to find a forever home very soon. The gorgeous girl was taken into rescue after retiring from racing - but the pooch still has plenty of ‘go’ in her as a family pet.
At just two years old, the ex-racing greyhound is full of energy, but equally loves to snuggle on the sofa, living up to the breed’s nickname of the '40mph couch potato'.
Lulu is said to love greeting everyone she meets, both two and four-legged, and enjoys spending time on walks while being able to sniff around.

Like any rescue dog, Lulu comes with a list of requirements for her perfect home, which will help her settle and live a happy, fulfilled family life. Firstly, she would love a garden so she can have her own space to get giddy in, and due to her friendly nature, could live with children 12 or over and another dog of a similar size who is happy to spend time playing with her.
Lisa Eardley, Dogs Trust Manchester rehoming centre manager said: “Lulu is such a fun girl and will be a great addition to a home.
“She has been friendly meeting dogs and particularly likes other sighthounds. So we think she could go home with another similar size dog/breed, if this is a male, he will need to be neutered. She can be quite playful once she is feeling confident so the dog she goes home with will need to be happy with this.”
Lulu loves treats - especially cheese and ham - but there are a few things she gets a bit worried about, such as travelling in the car, and other small dogs. As a result, she won’t be able to live with cats or other small animals.
If you think you could be a good match for Lulu, Manchester Dogs Trust is inviting potential adopters to fill out an application online. They’ll then arrange an appointment and virtual home check if well suited, before deciding whether it’s a perfect match and arranging an in person visit.
