The Denver Broncos are giving guard Quinn Meinerz a four-year, $80 million contract extension, making him one of the top three highest-paid guards in the NFL. He’s worth every penny.
Broncos fans and pundits were thrilled to hear the news of Meinerz’s extension because he is one of the best guards in the league. The 25-year-old lineman quickly became a fan favorite in Denver after “letting the belly breathe” at practice followed by delivering huge blocks on the field.
Meinerz played at a Division III program (Wisconsin-Whitewater), but his impressive college film and a strong showing at the Senior Bowl helped him rise up draft boards in 2021. The Broncos used a third-round pick to draft Meinerz, which is not common for a small-school prospect.
Meinerz proved Denver right, quickly emerging as a top offensive lineman. He was named a Pro Bowl alternate last season and more accolades are likely on the way in 2024.

But wait, there’s more!

Meinerz is now signed with the Broncos through the 2028 season. Because his new deal begins in 2025, the extension won’t impact Denver’s 2024 salary cap space.
