Cheapest place to buy family-size Quality Street this week as Aldi, Tesco, Ocado, Morrisons and Iceland run out of online stock

Left it a bit last minute to pick up the festive chocolates? Well, you might struggle to find somewhere to buy them online, with a number of retailers now 'out of stock' of the popular 600g Quality Street tubs.

But fear not, as well as keeping an eye on prices since September, we've also been looking out for stock levels. And with only four more sleeps until Christmas, you'll want to move quickly to ensure you've got a box to pop open when visitors come round on December 25.

This week, as shoppers rush to supermarkets to purchase final bits and pieces for the big day, it appears that Aldi, Tesco, Ocado, Morrisons and Iceland have all ran out of stock of the 600g Quality Street tubs - so where exactly can you order them from, without paying over the odds for leaving it so close to the wire?

Aldi have previously been crowned cheapest for their discounted Quality Street, but they're currently unavailable to buy online. Celebrations, on the other hand, are in stock, but have risen in price since December 7, back up to £3.99 instead of £3.49.

At Tesco, 600g boxes of Quality Street, Heroes and Roses are out of stock online, as well as 650g tubs of Celebrations. Meanwhile, Iceland have seemingly removed their tubs from the website, presumably since they're out of stock there too.

Morrisons shoppers are unable to order 600g of Quality Street online, the same going for Heroes and the family box of Celebrations, but Roses are still available to add to basket, costing £4.99 a tub.

Online retailer Ocado is also out of Quality Street and Heroes, but their Celebrations tub is now £5 or two for £8, making them only £4 each. Fans of Cadbury Heroes though can pick up a huge 2kg box for £23.

Sainsbury's shoppers can still chuck a family-sized tin of Quality Street in with their supermarket shop, with the large boxes coming in at £5. They've also got the 600g tubs of Heroes and 650g boxes of Celebrations in stock for £5, but appear to have ran out of the Roses. But they're not the cheapest place to buy them this close to Christmas.

This week, it's Asda who have won Christmas chocolate bingo, with all four tubs - Quality Street, Heroes, Roses and Celebrations - all in stock, priced at only £4 a box, undercutting Sainsbury's by £1.

Amazon shoppers can also pick up a 2kg box of Quality Street for £20.64, down from £21.99 with Prime next day delivery available. The box contains all of the favourites, including Toffee Penny and Green Triangle. The global retailer has even undercut Ocado on a 2kg box of Heroes, selling theirs for £16.48 instead of £22.99.

Mars fans can get a 2.4kg box of Celebrations for £16.69, reduced from £21.50, filled with Galaxy, Milky Way, Snickers and more.

When we opened up the boxes of Quality Street, Heroes, Roses and Celebrations, we found that our 650g box of Celebrations contained 71 chocolates, including 13 Milky Ways and only six Twix, while a 600g box of Heroes contained 64 chocolates. The most frequent Heroes chocs were Eclairs and Dairy Milk Caramel, with Twirl being the most scarce,

A box of Roses contained 56 chocolates, including eight Golden Barrels but only four Signature Truffles, while Quality Street offered the same amount of wrappers, but with eight fudge and just four milk choc block and green triangles. You can read the full experiment here.
