Fuel prices have fallen in recent weeks since hitting highs of over €2.20 a litre for petrol and €2.10 a litre for diesel last month.
However, finding the best price for fuel can still make a significant difference to your pocket if you need a full tank.
With prices for diesel in Dublin alone ranging from 202c a litre down to 189c a litre, it would cost €111.10 to fill a 55-litre family car at the more expensive price and €103.95 at the cheaper price - with a saving of €7.15 in the difference.
