Cheapest flights from Edinburgh Airport in June including Italy and Copenhagen

With Summer on the horizon and travel restrictions beginning to ease, lots of Scots will likely be heading off for a getaway.

After months of cancelled holidays and postponed plans as the Covid pandemic interrupts lives, people have some lost time to make up.

Of course, people should be reminded that entry requirements for different countries abroad can change quickly and can vary widely from one country to another, so make sure you are up to date with their guidelines when looking to travel.

It’s simple enough to do, you can check a country’s entry requirements on the Government’s website .

So for those of you who are looking for a cheap getaway soon, Edinburgh Live have searched for some affordable getaways from Edinburgh Airport.

Copenhagen

Flying with Ryanair, this weeklong trip to Copenhagen is surprisingly affordable. Just £30 round trip and with flights leaving in the evening at 7pm and 10pm, you won’t have to wake up at some impossible hour of the morning to rush to the airport.

Flying directly from Edinburgh airport to Copenhagen, the flight is only an hour and 45 minutes and at £30 you would be paying less for this than an anytime return from Waverley to Glasgow.

However, the only catch- as with many of these options, is that the flights aren’t on the weekend as the week is from Tuesday to Tuesday.

Dublin

If you’re looking for something closer to home, tickets to Dublin are going for surprisingly little.

It’s a popular weekend getaway for many in Britain, with plenty of tourist attractions and fantastic bars.

While the city is known for being a little expensive, there are still plenty of places that aren’t going to cost you a fortune.

And with a return flight from Edinburgh costing just £23, you’re going to be paying less money than getting a train to Oban or Glasgow at peak times.

With the flight leaving on Friday, these would be perfect for quick weekend or long weekend getaways.

Milan

A little further from home and certainly far warmer than our last two options, Milan is a great option for anyone who wants to see more of Northern Italy.

And while a little more expensive than our other options, at just £44 round trip it’s still very affordable.

There is a snag with this option though but for some people, who knows, it might even be another bonus.

The flight stops over with a fairly big delay in Cork. Arriving in the morning and with the connecting flight only in the evening of that day.

Perhaps that’s a little frustrating but who knows, maybe you want to see a bit of Ireland on your way to Italy. Just make sure and pack weather appropriate clothing for each.
