Cheapest flights from Edinburgh Airport in August including Spain, France and Denmark

Summer is well and truly on its way and if you have yet to book a trip abroad, you are in luck as we've found the cheapest flights from Edinburgh Airport.

August is considered a peak time in the travel industry with both English, Welsh and Scottish schools on summer break, so naturally prices to tend to be high. However, a simple search on Skyskanner shows you the cheapest flights available right now.

It is no surprise that Ryanair are the front runner for the best price for flights, and while thousands of holidaymakers have been faced with cancellations and delays, Ryanair have experienced little disruption, despite strike action taking place. With Ryanair, only hand luggage is free - dimensions of 40x20x25cm, which is a standard rucksack or holdall, but there are nifty ways to pack to so you can avoid the extra charge and keep your flight cheap.

According to Skyskanner.com, you can still find return flights for under £100, despite it being August. Here are some of the deals we found from Edinburgh Airport to Spain, France and Denmark.

Paris, France

The capital of France is considered one of the most romantic cities and with Ryanair, you can get a direct flight from Edinburgh for just £97. On August 2, you take off at 2.50pm and land at Paris Beauvais at 5.30pm, allowing you to take in the Parisian night life.

On return, the flight leaves the airport at 5.55pm and you land back in Edinburgh at 6.35 on August 9.

Palma, Spain

A flight to Spain for under £100 during peak summer time is not something to be ignored. On August 16, for a week, you can grab a return flight for £74. To put that into perspective, an 'any off-peak return' train ticket from Edinburgh to Inverness is £71.50. We know where we'd rather be.

The flight takes off with Ryanair 7.25pm, landing at 11.2pm and then the return flight is with easyJet at 6.55am and arriving back in Edinburgh at 9.05am. If you are looking at saving money, sometimes it's worth looking at return flights from different airlines to get the best price.

Copenhagen, Denmark

You can get to Copenhagen for just £70 in August with a return flight with Ryanair. This time one is at the end of August with a flight leaving Edinburgh on August 23 and returning on August 30.

You can leave at 7pm and be in Denmark for 9.45 and on return you leave at 10.10pm and you're back at 11pm. Denmark is a great alternative if you don't want a scorching beach holiday as the average temperature in August is around 22C, similar to the UK.
