Arsenal have been linked with a move for Barcelona striker Ferran Torres in the transfer window to help improve their squad depth and options for Mikel Arteta. The Spaniard fits the current transfer strategy at the club, where they look to develop youngsters into superstars.
The 22-year-old featured for Manchester City over one season and a half before joining the Blaugrana, where he has featured in the starting team less than half of the time. With just two goals to his name and a large price tag to his signing, Barca could look to offload him.
The Gunners could take advantage of that fact and their financial difficulties to make an offer, with Torres covering both wings and the centre-forward positions.

The forward certainly showed what he is capable of, scoring a brace in Spain's World Cup thrashing of Costa Rica and could well be amore affordable alternative to Shakhtar Donetsk's Mykhailo Mudryk, with the Ukrainian club now believed to be seeking around £90million for his services.
With him being linked with a move to north London, fans flocked to social media to give their take on a potential switch to the club in January.
@deejafc: "Ferran Torres would be some snip for Arsenal too and cheaper than Mudryk. No brainer."
@Buchi_Laba: "Arsenal should try for Ferran Torres!! Baller and can do the job."
@jnm_arsenal: "Three signings. Attainable in January. Ferran Torres, N’Dicka, Youri Tielemans. Cheaper, youthful and experienced. None of this Mudryk for €100mil nonsense."
@kheerennn_: "From the looks of it, if Edu really is working his magic behind the curtains, we should be able to bring in some solid players in the January transfer window. Danilo for a sum or Tielemans on a free for midfield. And Mudryk on the right or Ferran Torres for a more lower amount."
@EngineerTawanda: "Arteta needs to get Ferran Torres. But i guess he already knows that."
